Multiplexed detection of CRP-SAA1 using laser direct-write-fabricated multiple flow-path lateral flow devices

Multiplexed detection of CRP-SAA1 using laser direct-write-fabricated multiple flow-path lateral flow devices
We report a novel solution to allow multiplexed detection using a multi-path LFD that is fabricated via the precise partition of the flow-path of a single LFD using a laser direct-write technique. The multiple flow-paths allow individual detection of different analytes in each of the separated channels. We have successfully demonstrated the use of these multi-path LFDs for simultaneous detection of a biomarker panel comprising CRP and SAA-1, commonly used for the diagnosis of bacterial infections. In addition, clinical samples have also been tested and the results show a high consistency with those acquired using the gold-standard ELISA test.
