The thermal sensitivity of optical path length in standard single mode fibers down to cryogenic temperatures
The thermal sensitivity of optical path length in standard single mode fibers down to cryogenic temperatures
We measured the thermal sensitivity of SMF-28 fiber in the range -190°C-25°C and measured a > 3-fold decrease for uncoated fiber towards the lowest measured temperature and far higher sensitivities for coated and jacketed fibers.
