A two-fold handshaking full-duplex MAC protocol for underwater acoustic communication networks
A two-fold handshaking full-duplex MAC protocol for underwater acoustic communication networks
It is well known that the performance of underwater acoustic communication and networks (UWANs) is constrained by the channel characteristics of the limited bandwidth, low data rate, and low propagation speed. MAC protocols are crucial to the performance of the UWANs since they ensure multiple users to share the common medium channel with less collisions.

Abstract
It is well known that the performance of underwater acoustic communication and networks (UWANs) is constrained by the channel characteristics of the limited bandwidth, low data rate, and low propagation speed. MAC protocols are crucial to the performance of the UWANs since they ensure multiple users to share the common medium channel with less collisions.
