Self-assembled microbottle resonator as photo-stable temperature sensor

Self-assembled microbottle resonator as photo-stable temperature sensor
Self-assembled microbottle resonator as photo-stable temperature sensor
Microbottle resonators were fabricated by self-assembly of Cadmium selenide (CdSe) quantum dots (QDs) doped polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) on a tapered optical fiber stem. Whispering gallery modes have been observed in the photoluminescence spectrum of QDs, which shows a blue shift on increasing the temperature. The temperature sensing device shows a sensitivity of 8 pm/˚C and good photo- and temporal stability.

Abstract

Microbottle resonators were fabricated by self-assembly of Cadmium selenide (CdSe) quantum dots (QDs) doped polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) on a tapered optical fiber stem. Whispering gallery modes have been observed in the photoluminescence spectrum of QDs, which shows a blue shift on increasing the temperature. The temperature sensing device shows a sensitivity of 8 pm/˚C and good photo- and temporal stability.
