This book chapter reports the findings of first systematic review on money laundering schemes through real estate markets. The purpose is to synthesize all available information in terms, for instance, of the actors involved, the type/characteristics of the properties dealt, possible risk indicators, potential loopholes exploited in the legislative framework, and the different methodological approaches adopted so far to investigate the issue.
