READ ME File For 'Dataset title' Dataset DOI: 10.5258/SOTON/D1508 ReadMe Author: Geoffroy Christian Paul CLAISSE, University of Southampton ORCID ID 28422864 This dataset supports the thesis entitled : OPTIMAL CONTROL APPLIED TO PLANE COUETTE FLOW: (TOWARDS THE) FULL-INFORMATION STATE-FEEDBACK STABILIZATION OF THE NAGATA LOWER-BRANCH AWARDED BY: Univeristy of Southampton SUPERVISORS: Ati SHARMA, Davide LASAGNE DATE OF AWARD: 10/07/2020 EXAMINERS: Onofrio SEMERARO, Neil D. Sandham -------------------------------------------- HOW TO EXTRACT THE DATA This dataset has been compressed with the 7-zip utility into chunks of size of 4GB with the following command. Simply select all zip files and un-zip with 7-zip. It will then create a un-compressed folder containing the following data. -------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION OF THE DATA This dataset contains: - THESIS/THESIS_log/ : log output from simulation and post-process operated with scripts contained in osse/ - THESIS/0*_****_****/ : here are contained the data from simulations ran with Channelflow and/or the OSSE/ROSSE model. They are classified to the corresponding chapter where they are used in the thesis. The thesis precisely describes which data is used for each section and which script is used to post-process/ open/display the results and reproduce the plots of the thesis. - channelflow_controlled.zip : git repository extension to the channelflow spectral CFD program of Gibson (see website channelflow.org) for the 1st version of Channelflow (new version on channelflow.ch and not compatible). Contains the source files to edit Channelflow and add control and wall-actuation (corrected from the Peter Heins actuation source files), as well as controlled simulations from channelflow. Associated to bitbucket repository: https://bitbucket.org/claisse/channelflow_controlled/src/master/ - eigenfolder/ : eigenvalues and eigenvectors calculated with theOSSE/ROSSE models of the different equilibria in eq/ - eq/ : all the plane couette flow equilibria used to produce the thesis - osse/ : spectral method project at the core of the PHD. It contains the OSSE and ROSSE models, as well as all the scripts to simulate the models and postprocess the data.
