READ ME File For 'Dataset for 213 nm Laser Written Waveguides in Ge-doped Planar Silica without hydrogen loading' Dataset DOI: ReadMe Author: Paul Gow, University of Southampton This dataset supports the publication: '213 nm Laser Written Waveguides in Hydrogen-free Planar Silica' Submitted to be published in Optics Express. Contents +++++++++ All data used for plots, calculations and descriptions in the paper as titled above is included here. Folders are labelled with the date the datasets were taken (YYYY-MM-DD) followed by a descritption of the data contained. "2020-03-17 NA system raw data" contains the data used for fitting and extracting Numerical Aperture, Mode field radius and M^2 values for the UV written waveguides and the fibre v-groove assembly. The sub-folders are labelled with the fluence used to write the waveguide (eg: f25 means a fluence of 25 kJ/cm^2, f70 means a fluence of 70 kJ/cm^2 ). Within these sub-folders are 4 seperate measurement folders for each waveguide, labelled with the date and time each measurement was taken. These contain the raw data for each axis (X or Y) and a folder containing the images used to perform the overlap integrals to calculate coupling efficiancies. "2018-09-28 244 waveguides hydrogen free" contains the data used for fitting and extracting Numerical Aperture, Mode field radius and M^2 values for the waveguides UV written with a 244 nm laser without hydrogen loading. The sub-folders are labelled with the fluence used to write the waveguide (eg: f10 means a fluence of 10 kJ/cm^2). Within these sub-folders are the measurement folders for each waveguide, labelled with the date and time each measurement was taken. These contain the raw data for each axis (X or Y) and images of the mode. "2017-08-24 all 50 fluence" contains the data used for fitting and extracting Numerical Aperture, Mode field radius and M^2 values for the 9 waveguides UV written with a 213 nm laser all at a fluence of 50 kJ/cm^2 for measuring waveguide uniformity. Within these sub-folders are the measurement folders for each waveguide, labelled with the date and time each measurement was taken. These contain the raw data for each axis (X or Y) and images of the mode. "2017-09-08 Cutback measurements" contains a file with the repeat measurements taken to determine waveguide loss through the cutback technique.
