READ ME File For 'Objective and behavioural measures of temporal processing in cochlear implant users' Dataset DOI: 10.5258/SOTON/D1558 ReadMe Author: Sharmila Patel, University of Southampton ORCID ID This dataset supports the thesis entitled: Neural refractory properties and behavioural measures of temporal resolution and speech perception in cochlear implant users. AWARDED BY: University of Southampton DATE OF AWARD: 2020 DESCRIPTION OF THE DATA The data was collected from 18 subjects recruited from the Auditory Implant Service at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust between 13/08/2018 and 31/01/2019. Data was collected at one visit and included the following: 1. eCAP recovery function at electrode location 19,16,10 & 6. This was collected using Custom Sound Software 5.1, this software is not needed to view the numerical values included in this data set. 2. Random Gap Detection Test for the following frequencies: 500Hz, 1000Hz, 2000Hz, 4000Hz. This was obtained using the Auditec Random Gap Detection Test CD, using circumaural headphones over the research speech processor at 60dBA. Subject's gap detection responses were scored to obtain the shortest gap that could be detected between two stimuli for each frequency. 3. Arthur Boothroyd Word Lists at presentation levels 70dBA, 60dBA, 50dBA and 40dBA. This was obtained using otosuite software on an Aurical system, using circumaural headphones over the research speech processor, in quiet. Subject's were scored for phonemes identified correctly at all levels. This dataset contains: eCAP recovery function measurements Random Gap Detection Thresholds Arthur Boothroyd Phoneme scores in quiet Date of data collection: 13/08/2018-31/01/2019 Date that the file was created: October, 2018 --------------
