On-the-job training in apprenticeship in England
Given the focus on off-the-job training both in terms of apprenticeship regulation and academic research, this small-scale study set out to enhance our understanding of on-the-job training provided by employers in five sectors (Engineering, Construction, IT, Retail, and Social Care). The research was based on interviews with two employers in each of the five sectors (one large employer, one SME), as well as with representatives of national stakeholders and sector-level bodies.
