Moving forward by looking back: insuring autonomous vessels under English hull and machinery cover and law
Moving forward by looking back: insuring autonomous vessels under English hull and machinery cover and law
While the concept of autonomous ships is yet to be fully developed and the cyber insurance market is still in its infancy, this chapter aims to offer a broad framework for understanding the landscape of risks introduced by automated and autonomous ships that should be insured in the marine insurance markets. This chapter will focus on the implications of automated and autonomous ships for marine insurance cover, in particular the scope of coverage in hull and machinery insurance.
