A co-learning agreement to support classroom research on collaborative peer talk
This paper reports on a project exploring the extent to which ‘exploratory talk’, a form of productive talk within small groups, occurs in secondary school mathematics classrooms. The project is a collaboration between a classroom teacher and a researcher and is on based on a ‘co-learning agreement’ in which not only is the contribution of each is recognised but also what each can learn. The paper sets of the expectations of the ‘co-learning agreement’ along with the research benefits.

Abstract
