The reflexivity of educational researchers

The reflexivity of educational researchers
The reflexivity of educational researchers
The changing nature of the way in which academics locate and use journal papers and associated shift from paper to electronic presentation of the journal places a question mark over the continued role of editorials. For International Journal of Research and Method in Education we have, therefore, decided to include editorials only for special issues, where they have a distinctive function, and for the first issue of the volume, where we wish to continue to connect with the journal's readers once per year. Historically, editorials for International Journal of Research and Method in Education have often had a celebratory feel. We have celebrated key moments in the journal's history as they have unfolded and we will continue to do so. More often, though, we have celebrated educational research itself. The editorial for 33(1), for example, paid tribute to the resourcefulness of educational researchers and 33(2) to their resilience. It is the papers that make up the content of the journal that guide such themes and demonstrate so powerfully the vibrancy, diversity and impact of methodological research in our discipline. This editorial applauds the reflexivity of educational researchers and illustrates through its papers the deep ways in which educational researchers reflect on their studies, their teaching of research methods and their doctoral experiences.
