READ ME File For 'Impact of factors associated with short-term transplant outcomes' Dataset DOI: 10.5258/SOTON/D1647 ReadMe Author: Luke Day, University of Southampton, ORCID ID: 0000-0002-3304-948X This dataset supports the thesis entitled 'Impact of factors associated with short-term transplant outcomes' AWARDED BY: University of Southampton DATE OF AWARD: 2020 DESCRIPTION OF THE DATA: This dataset relates to 227 donation after circulatory death (DCD) donors across the UK, and was obtained from the NHS Blood and Transplant. It was recorded by nurses regularly taking recordings (approximately once every few minutes) of physiological variables throughout the treatment withdrawal to death phase. These data also contain a set of donor characteristic variables as listed below. This dataset contains the following variables: tsurv: The time (in minutes) from treatment withdrawal to event for the organ donor. tcens: A censoring indicator (1 incurred an event, 0 was censored) SBP: Systolic blood pressure DBP: Diastolic blood pressure HR: Heart rate Resp_Rate: respiration rate timeprog: Time from treatment withdrawal (in minutes) dage: The donor age dsex: The gender of the donor dbg: Blood group of the donor dcod: Donor cause of death dweight: Donor's weight dheight: Donor's height Note that ID and ethnicity variables have been removed as an additional measure to protect the subject identities. This project was funded by the NHST Trust Fund (award TF047) and the University of Southampton Vice Chancellor's Scholarship. Date of data collection: Jan 2013 - April 2015 Location of data collection: United Kingdom Date README file was created: 18/11/2020 Patient consent forms are held by the NHSBT.
