Computers in the teaching and learning of mathematics
This paper provides a personal perspective on research on the impact of computer use on pupil learning and achievement in mathematics. Noting the increasing level of spending on educational technology, the available evidence suggests that the impact of computer use on pupil learning and achievement in mathematics is quite mixed. Further research is needed, including studies that are better designed. The paper concludes with details of some current research being conducted in the UK.
