Power allocation and outage analysis for secure MISO cognitive radio networks with an unknown eavesdropper

Power allocation and outage analysis for secure MISO cognitive radio networks with an unknown eavesdropper
Power allocation and outage analysis for secure MISO cognitive radio networks with an unknown eavesdropper
This paper investigates the power allocation problem for secure secondary transmission in a multiple-input single-output cognitive wiretap system with artificial noise (AN). The secondary transmitter exchanges confidential information with the secondary destination in the presence of an unknown eavesdropper. Since the eavesdropper's channel state information (CSI) is unavailable, we propose an optimal adaptive power allocation scheme, and derive a closed-form expression of the optimal power allocation factor that minimizes the secrecy outage probability (SOP). A suboptimal fixed power allocation scheme is also proposed to reduce the system complexity. Moreover, exact closed-form expressions of SOP under both schemes are derived. Numerical results are provided to corroborate the accuracy of our analytical results and the superiority of the proposed schemes to the benchmarks.
