Keynote: eLearning - When does the learning start?
Keynote: eLearning - When does the learning start?
When I first started writing this presentation, the world was a much different place and so was eLearning. In the past 20 years eLearning has slowly evolved as the technology changed, moving from basic computer-based learning models to more complex interactive learning designs. However, to me, the changes to eLearning in Higher Education have been more strongly linked to changes in technology and university infrastructure rather than any reconceptualization of learning or pedagogy. In this presentation I will examine some of the pressures or forces that effect the development of eLearning in Universities. Specifically, I will look at how technology, administration, students, academics, and educators influence the use of eLearning. Finally, I will reflect on some of the changes to eLearning in Universities brought about by the current situation and ask, has eLearning really benefitted.
