Device and method for measuring radioactive material distribution

Device and method for measuring radioactive material distribution
Device and method for measuring radioactive material distribution

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure the distribution of a radioactive material in the soil.SOLUTION: A distal end (lower end) of a head part 30 is provided with a distal end part 31 whose lower side is shaped in an acute angle. Hence, the head part 30 can intrude below a seabed by a dead weight. The upper side of the distal end part 31 is vertically arranged with a plurality (six parts in Figure) of radiation detection parts 40. Each of the radiation detection parts is constituted of a scintillator 41 that emits visual light by absorbing a gamma ray (radiation) and a photo diode 42 for outputting a pulse-like electric signal upon receipt of this visual light. A signal processing part 23 for processing the pulse-like output signal from such photo diode 42 is incorporated into a measurement unit main body 20.
