A 39-year-old police oicer presented with a 3-year history of primary subfertility. At the age of 19, she had undergone a let oophorectomy for the removal of a dermoid cyst; this was complicated by intraoperative bleeding requiring blood transfusion. She was later diagnosed with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) but had never required any treatment for this bleeding disorder. Her periods were heavy but regular. Her partner was it and well.
