DESCRIPTION OF THE DATA
The data collected for this research involved semi-structured interviews which mean there was a basic framework of interview questions but the researcher could probe the interviewee in any direction which was not planned prior to the interview. The participants were contacted via phone call or face to face meeting, in order to brief them about the research and if they were inclined to participate in it. Once, participant agreed to do the interview a date, time and location was fixed. Before interview began, participants signed consent forms and the interviews were audio recorded as part of their consent. These interviews were conducted in three cities namely Bhopal, New Delhi and Mumbai (India) over a period of four months. The interview participants involved Indian social sector practitioners (founders) of social enterprises, non-profit organisations, accelerators, impact investors. It also contains interviews of academics from educational institutes pioneering in social innovation and government officials (central and state government level) working in the departments promoting social enterprises and social innovation. The interviews were then transcribed and uploaded on NVivo software for coding purpose.  


This dataset contains:
Empty consent form and interviews of Indian social sector practitioners (founders) of social enterprises, non-profit organisations, accelerators, impact investors from three cities in India namely Bhopal, New Delhi and Mumbai. It also contains interviews of academics from educational institutes pioneering in social innovation and government officials (central and state government level) working in the departments promoting social enterprises and social innovation.

Information about geographic location of data collection: Data was collected from three cities i.e Bhopal, New Delhi and Mumbai in India.
