Inclusive research

Inclusive research
Inclusive research
Inclusive research is an umbrella term that encompasses a range of approaches to conducting research following concerns about the need to democratise the research process. Community-based/ participatory research, participatory rural appraisal, emancipatory research, community research, activist scholarship, decolonizing or indigenous research all fall within what can be understood as inclusive research. Each of these reflect a particular response to a particular set of power dynamics, but they all place emphasis on their value and respect for the people the research is about who also take on active roles in the research process – in this way the research is inclusive.
