Lawrence Yule, University of Southampton, L.Yule@soton.ac.uk Data collection dates: 02/2021-10/2021 Licence:CC BY Dataset for MDPI Sensors Special Issue "Sensors for Severe Environments" article "Modelling and validation of a guided acoustic wave temperature monitoring system". The article covers the development of a guided wave based temperature monitoring system, which includes a guide on building a COMSOL model and experimental verification. The dataset contains COMSOL models, raw data, and MATLAB code for calculating time of flight. Authors:Yule, L.; Zaghari, B.; Harris, N.; Hill, M. Journal: Sensors 2021, 21, 7390 DOI https://doi.org/10.3390/s21217390 The data.xlsx file provided contains the results of the theoritical study (extracted from dispersion curves), the experimental study, and the COMSOL study. Raw data is provided for the COMSOL results to reproduce the plots or replicate the calcualtion of time of flight. The MATLAB files ToF_COMSOL_hilbert_single.m or ToF_COMSOL_hilbert_selection.m can be used to plot a single result or process a batch of results. TotalToFPara.mph is the COMSOL 5.6 model for the main measurement system. w2wPara.mph is the COMSOL 5.6 model for measuring wedge-to-wedge propagation time. In order to calculate group velocity from time of flight refer to the equation given in the paper, using the wedge foot offset value given in the data spreadsheet.
