Ultrafast pulse processing and shaping based on long-period fiber gratings for optical coding and switching applications
We review our recent work on fundamental long-period fiber grating (LPG) - based (sub-)picosecond optical pulse shaping/processing techniques and their applications in ultrahigh-bit-rate optical telecommunication systems, with a particular emphasis on ultrafast optical pulse coding and jitter-tolerant time-domain de-multiplexing operations in systems operating up to 640GHz.
