The second and third order elastic constants of aluminium and cadmium
The second and third order elastic constants of aluminium and cadmium

An investigation is carried out on the nature of the basis functions f(t) and g(t) and the case f(t) = g*(t) receives special attention. Then these functions are termed selfreciprocal and their properties are further investigated. In this context functions which are the same as their own Fourier trans form (Fourier reciprocal functions) are also studied. A method for generating self and Fourier reciprocal functions is also derived thus making the use of the above expansion simpler.

Abstract

An investigation is carried out on the nature of the basis functions f(t) and g(t) and the case f(t) = g*(t) receives special attention. Then these functions are termed selfreciprocal and their properties are further investigated. In this context functions which are the same as their own Fourier trans form (Fourier reciprocal functions) are also studied. A method for generating self and Fourier reciprocal functions is also derived thus making the use of the above expansion simpler.
