Additional Information: Dr Alexander Whiteside is an Assistant Editor for the Royal Society of Chemistry, based near their offices in Cambridge, UK. As part of the RSC’s Open Access journals team, he supports the development and production of Digital Discovery and RSC Chemical Biology. Alex obtained a PhD in computational chemistry at Heriot-Watt University in 2012, and pursued postdoctoral research on computational materials chemistry at the University of Bath and the University of Cambridge before joining the RSC in 2016.
