Chronic pain patients have been found to have attention, interpretation, and memory biases towards pain stimuli. The implications of these findings will be discussed in reference to: a. health care utilisation b. Fear avoidance. c. Screening procedures. Amodel describing the interaction between self-schema and pain-schema will be presented (based on a systematic review of the studies published to date).
