The National Health Service (NHS) is facing one of the toughest financial periods of its history, and clinical leadership will be critical to maintaining the quality of care. The King's Fund drew on a wealth of experience in developing the skills of leaders in the NHS to conduct a survey of clinical and medical directors to find out what skills they believed they need to face these challenging times.
