DESCRIPTION OF THE DATA
Participant self-report data was collected via an MS Forms online survey. The raw dataset (as downloaded from MS Forms) is in an Excel spreadsheet format (this dataset is titled 'Restricted and Repetitive Behaviours and Interests in Young People_Raw_Dataset'. An edited version of the survey dataset also available with incomplete data removed and data coded as per individual outcome measures. Sub-scores for each outcome measure are also calculated via formulas for all relevant outcome measures. Finally, there is an SPSS dataset provided for data pertaining to Sex, Diagnosis, RBQ-2A Total, RBQ-2A Repetitive Sensory Motor (RSM), RBQ-2A Insistence on Sameness (IS), CATQ Total, CATQ Assimilation, CATQ Masking, CATQ Compensation, ASSERT Autistic Traits, Age, and Diagnosis vs Self-Identifying Autistic data only, which was the data used in the thesis titled ' 'Sex/Gender Differences in Autistic Restricted and Repetitive Behaviours and Interests'. 


Both Excel datasets contain:

- consent confirmations 
- ethnicity 
- gender
- biological sex
- diagnosis status
- age of diagnosis, who gave diagnosis, how many times assessed (if applicable)
- self-identification of autism (yes or no)
- experience of autism assessment (yes or no), how many times assessed, outcome of asessment, currently on a waiting list for assessment, age of first assessment (if applicable)
- responses on ASSERT outcome measure
- responses on CAT-Q outcome measure
- responses on RBQ-2A outcome measure
- open-responses to 'are there any other restricted interest you feel you have that have not already been mentioned?'
- open-responses to 'are there any other repetitive behaviours you feel you have that have not already been mentioned?'
- responses on ASA-A outcome measure

Outcome Measure scoring:
ASSERT- Not true (0), Somewhat true (1), Certainly true (2)
CAT-Q- Strongly disagree (1), Disagree (2), Somewhat disagree (3), Neither agree nor disagree (4), Somewhat agree (5), Agree (6), Strongly agree (7). Questions 24, 3, 12, 19 and 22 are reversed scored.
RBQ-2A- Never or rarely (1), one or more times daily (2), 15 or more times daily (3), 30 or more times daily (4)- NB: in the edited dataset, scores of 3 and 4 are merged (as per guidance) to a score of 3. 
ASA-A- Never (0), Sometimes (1), Often (2), Always (3)
