READ ME File For 'Dataset of Californian fouling communities' Dataset DOI: https://doi.org/10.5258/SOTON/D2413 ReadMe Author: Ella McKnight University of Southampton orcid.org/0000-0003-3313-3910 This dataset supports the thesis entitled 'The influence of contemporary climate change on native and non-native marine and brackish species ' AWARDED BY: University of Southampton DATE OF AWARD: [2022] DESCRIPTION OF THE DATA Dataset = California fouling community 3 csv files - tabulated data in spreadsheets These data encompasses a 10 year period where samples of biofouling was measured at Bodega bay, California. Three marinas are situated in the bay and used as separate sites to explore. This dataset contains: - 2 week recruitment data for the three sites - Species presence measured. - Longterm data (monthly photos) - species cover measured. - Three years of seasonally starting data. Here the community is surveyed to see development over a year. Then the survey was repeated. This happened at each site and included starting in 4 different seasons Added to the data columns are species characteristic, dates and day count and sampling id. These 3 files have been organised into long data format with descriptions of each species percentage cover at each time point.
