Datasets accompanying the thesis 'Microplastics in agricultural soils: Methods, Sources and Fate'
Three data sets are included as follows: 'Dataset_Developing a systematic method for extraction of microplastics in soils' (Chapter 3) This dataset included assessments of the efficiency of various organic removal and density separation techniques at separating microplastics of varying polymer types, shapes and sizes from soils with varying organic matter content and particle size distribution. Impacts of reagents on microplastic particles are also included. 'Dataset_Agricultural soils and microplastics. Are biosolids the problem' (Chapter 4) This dataset included assessments of the microplastic quantities and composition in agricultural fields which have or have not received biosolid amendments. This takes into account seasonal variation and soil properties. The dataset includes microplastic number, size, and mass data; blank values, and co-variate data (including soil properties and landscape data). 'Dataset_Temporal variation in soil microplastic abundance related to biosolid application' (Chapter 5) This dataset assesses the temporal variation in microplastic concentrations in 5 fields across a year-long sampling campaign focused around the application of biosolids and takes into account soil properties such as organic matter composition and clay content. Data includes microplastic number, size, and mass data; blank values, and co-variate data (including soil properties and landscape data).
