Building Britain's railways back better: restoring and increasing passenger demand
Building Britain's railways back better: restoring and increasing passenger demand
Following decades of traffic growth, Britain’s railways are in the process of recovering from the collapse in passenger numbers and revenue caused by the Covid pandemic. The industry also faces a range of longer-term challenges, opportunities and strategic objectives, including those relating to climate change, and the need to ‘build back better’ to meet these. Enhanced research capabilities are being established to assist with meeting these challenges and objectives.
