DESCRIPTION OF THE DATA

This dataset contains the photometry for the sample of core-collapse supernovae from the Dark Energy Survey (DES) which underpins this thesis, as well as a table compiling both supernova and host galaxy properties for DES and comparison samples from Zwicky Transient Facility and the Lick Observatory Supernova Search. Also included are spectra and velocity measurements from DES14X2fna, the focus of Chapter 4, along with comparison samples of type IIb and Ic-BL supernovae.

All data are easily machine readable, in either csv or txt format.

The data stucture of the zip file is as follows:

Spectra/DES14X2fna_X_YYYYMMDD - Spectra of DES14X2fna taken by instrument X on date YYYYMMDD, with original spectra and final spectra comprising cases where multiple spectra taken on the same day have been combined

DES14X2fna_vel.csv - Table containing line velocities at different dates for DES14X2fna, indicating whether they were estimated using P-Cygni profile minima (PC) or full width half maxima (FWHM). Data used for table 4.7 on page 85.

DES_CCSN_photometry.csv - All photometry for the DES core-collapse supernova sample which is analysed in this paper, including the unique type IIb SN which is the subject of Chapter 4.

DES_LOSS_ZTF_sn_host_props.csv - Properties of both supernovae and their host galaxies, where available, for all supernovae across the DES, LOSS and ZTF samples that are the focus of Chapter 3.

IcBL_table.csv - Table containing properties for SN Ic-BL comparison sample presented in chapter 4. Reference numbers correspond to paper references in caption for Table 4.6 on page 81.

IIb_table.csv - Table containing properties for SN IIb comparison sample presented in chapter 4. Reference numbers correspond to paper references in caption for Table 4.5 on page 80.
