This began with development of theoretical models describing the engine's process, originally ran in Matlab. This subsequently involved the production of CAD models and technical drawings for the engine design (produced by Peter Hanley of Hanley Design) and the development of engine control code originally ran in Arduino IDE. CAD files for the developmental slide valve (produced by the author of this research) is also included in this dataset. Furthermore, raw data was collected following tests and analysed in the associated data sheet to be used for analysis and discussion in the associated thesis. This included data acquisition device calibration and accuracy checks. Photographs and videos taken during assembly and testing of the Mk.III engine are also included in this dataset. As a result of the aforementioned data collection process, it was collated of a number of years. All code has been stored in .txt files to ensure future compatibility. Drawings are stored as .pdf files. Data is stored as .xlsx files. Photos and videos are stored as .jpeg and .mov files respectively. CAD files are stored as .stp and .dxf files. This dataset contains: MkIII_Engine_Data_Submission.xlsx (Raw data and data analysis following MkIII engine tests used to plot graphs used in thesis). MkIII_Condensing_Engine_Technical_Drawings.zip (All technical drawings used for the manufacture and assembly go the MkIII engine, produced by Hanley Design). Uniflow_Engine_Isentropic_V2.txt (Mathematical model originally ran in Matlab to predict MkIII engine efficiency). Uniflow_Evacuation_Slot_Simulation_V1.txt (Mathematical model originally ran in Matlab to simulate steam evacuation profile). MkIII_Uniflow_Evacuation_Real_Test_Check_V1.txt (Mathematical model originally ran in Matlab to compare estimated steam evacuation profile against real data). MkIII_Engine_Control_No_Expansion_V1.txt (MkIII engine control code - case without steam expansion - originally ran in Arduino IDE).
