READ ME File For 'Dataset to support the thesis entitled 'Development of Methodological Platforms for Pre-Clinical Optimisation of Sclerotherapy' Dataset DOI: 10.5258/SOTON/D2297 ReadMe Author: Alireza Meghdadi, University of Southampton [0000-0001-6805-7183] This dataset supports the thesis entitled Development of Methodological Platforms for Pre-Clinical Optimisation of Sclerotherapy AWARDED BY: Univeristy of Southampton DATE OF AWARD: [2023] DESCRIPTION OF THE DATA [This should include a detailed description of the data, how it was collected/created, any specialist software needed to view the data] This dataset contains: CFD animations corresponding to Chapter IV.4.2 of the thesis. Data depicts the multiphase injection of a sclerosing foam modelled as a compressible Herschel-Bulkley fluid into a horizontal tube (4.48 mm ID, 10 cm Length) with the continuous phase modelled as a Cross fluid resembling the rheological properties of human whole blood. Additional related data collected that was not included in the current data package: 1) Rheological data associated with the flow behaviour of sclersoing foams using two different manufacturing techniques (Double Syringe System and Tessri) manufactured at three different liquid-to-gas ratios (1:3, 1:4 and 1:5). Rheological data were obtained in two different tubes of IDs 2.48 mm and 4.48 mm and lengths 34 cm and 15 cm. 2) Compressibility data on sclerosing foams collected by applying pressure to a constant volume of foam inside a sealed tube of known diameter and length.
