Digital guru media for self-health management and wellbeing: the good, the bad, and the pragmatic strategies for improvement
This chapter provides a new theoretical framework to the fields of leisure studies, health, and wellbeing by combining the Iron Triangle and Push-Pull Theory. The Iron Triangle was a creation of Martin Barnes in 1969 for the management of construction projects, specifically the relationship and trade-offs between cost, quality, and time constraints. The psychological level builds on themes from the social and cultural levels. Celebrities and influencers often use DGM as a mechanism to pull people to their specific content to increase their total number of followers. Celebrities and influencers frequently post content to attract and subsequently maintain the interest of their followers. At the individual level, there needs to be a self-awareness that the content of DGM can be both useful and damaging, particularly as consumers take on a more active role in their self-health management and wellbeing. The health and wellbeing of individuals directly affect organizations at a global level.

Abstract
