Diaspora Cymreig [the Welsh diaspora]: Makers of Welsh origin working outside Wales
Diaspora Cymreig [the Welsh diaspora]: Makers of Welsh origin working outside Wales
THIS EXHIBITION is a platform for showcasing work by a cohort of eminent designer-makers, who for various reasons have chosen to establish their studios and practice beyond Wales. All featured exhibitors are of Welsh origin or descent - some having successfully been presented at the major cultural platform of the National Eisteddfod Art and Craft exhibition, with its broad definition of Welshness as having being born in Wales or of having Welsh ancestry.

There is a long history of creative artists travelling and settling as emigres: in doing so, they have opened up new horizons, influences and ideas, adapting and incorporating these into their work.
