Abstract

An appropriate resonator has been designed to generate femtosecond mode locked pulses in a UV FEL with the modulator performance based on the gain switching. The gain broadening due to electron energy spread affects on the gain parameters, small signal gain ϒo and saturation intensity Is, to determine the optimum output coupling as well.
