Care for older people in Indonesia: reality and challenges
This short film brings to life the reality of older people’s care in Indonesia. It shows the diversity of circumstances in different areas across Indonesia, and the challenges that older people and families face in achieving a good level of care. The film results from a comparative, ethnographic research project funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) on Older People’s Care Networks in Indonesia. The study was led by Associate Professor Elisabeth Schroeder-Butterfill from the Gerontology Department and was a collaboration with Atma Jaya Catholic University in Jakarta, HelpAge International, and the Universities of Oxford and Loughborough.
