Derechos lingüísticos, política lingüística y planificación lingüística en el mundo de habla hispana
Derechos lingüísticos, política lingüística y planificación lingüística en el mundo de habla hispana
This chapter begins by briefly analysing some of the principal questions concerning the relationship between linguistic rights and language policy and planning at national level. It continues by outlining some of the basic concepts – by introducing the most important models and critiques of them. It explores the situation of linguistic rights and the reactions to them by various governments across the Spanish-speaking world through their language policies and practices. It also discusses illustrations of particular cases of Spain and Latin America. It concludes by briefly examining how in a post-national world, defined by processes of globalisation, new language policies (often at supra/inter-national level) are being proposed and implemented to influence and shape the future of global Spanish and the languages with which it comes into contact.
