'The Selfish Giant is a classic, presented alongside another well-known tale, The Happy Prince. David Owen Norris recently discovered piano arrangements of Oscar Wilde children’s stories for piano and narrator by Liza Lehman, composed only ten years after Wilde’s death. Poulenc’s story of Babar is one of his most popular compositions. ‘It is in every respect a success, and one of the most accomplished works he has given to his instrument’ , according to French composer and music critic Guy Sacre.'
