DESCRIPTION OF THE DATA
This dataset contains four folders:

Axes 1-4 Metallographs (metallographic images of the microstructures of these specimens)
Axes 1-4 Photos (photographic images of the blades of these specimens during testing)
Preliminary hardness data (excel spreadsheets containing hardness data of Axes 1-4)
Prehistoric axe data (excel spreadsheet containing all the raw data collected for ancient axes)

The remaining data underpinning the PhD can be found within the dataset for, "The Mechanised Testing and Sequential Examination of Replica Bronze Age Palstave Blades". doi:10.5258/SOTON/D1670
