This dataset contains: VIDEO (ASK1.avi): The video shows ASK1 data taken during the time interval during which the aurora is visible in the field of view (06:06:05 - 06:08:30 UT). The temporal resolution of the raw data is 31.25ms (32 Hz) and the video is played at real time (32 Hz). The ASK1 filter has a central wavelength of 673nm and a full-width-half-maximum of 15nm. --------------------------------------- SPECTRA (spectra_top.dat, spectra_mid.dat, spectra_bot.dat): Data files containing half-second resolution emission spectra, taken by each section of the HiTIES slit during the event, are provided under the names 'spectra_[slit section].dat'. The time interval covered in this data is between 06:06:05 and 06:08:30 UT. --------------------------------------- N2 VOLUME EMISSION RATE PROFILES (n2_volume_emission_top.dat, n2_volume_emission_mid.dat, n2_volume_emission_bot.dat): Data files containing modelled half-second resolution N2 volume emission rate profiles are provided under the names 'n2_volume_emission_[slit section].dat'. The time interval covered by this data is indentical to the spectral data, between 06:06:05 and 06:08:30 UT. Date of data collection: All data was collected on the 2nd of February 2017. Information about geographic location of data collection: Data was collected by the ASK and HiTIES instruments located on the island of Spitzbergen in the Svalbard archipelago in northern Norway (78.15 N, 16.03 E).
