However, to get the most out of the data it should be viewed using Excel, Matlab, or Python. Raw DCB data: This was collected by hand during the DCB tests. The thickness and width of each sample has been recorded which is crucial for determining the strain energy release rate. Furthermore, the precrack length, visible onset of crack growth and date the experiment was carried out is also incuded. The force, displacement and cracks length were recorded according to ASTM D5528. These were recorded alongside the force displacement data from the instron machine. Force vs Displacement Data: The continuous force displacement data recorded during the DCB experiments. The data starts at a crack opening displacement of 4 mm, due to the stirrup opening method used as described in the thesis that this material supports. This can be used with the previous raw data the calculate each material system R-curve as shown in Appendix a of the thesis. R-Curve Data Averaged: This is the average R-curve data across all the specimens within a given material system. This was used to plot the R-curve data with confidence intervals shown in Chapter 3 of the thesis. Note, this is the raw data and may have a different numbering system to the data shown in the thesis, this translates as follows: Mat 1 (raw) = Mat 1 (Thesis) Mat 10 (raw) = Mat 2 (Thesis) Mat 5 (raw) = Mat 3 (Thesis) Mat 9 (raw) = Mat 4 (Thesis) Mat 7 (raw) = Mat 5 (Thesis) Mat 4 (raw) = Mat 6 (Thesis) This dataset contains: Raw DCB data Force vs Displacement Data R-Curve Data Averaged Date of data collection: 2021 - 2022 Information about geographic location of data collection: Experiments were conducted using the Instron E electromechanical tensile testing machine in the TSRL, University of Southampton.
