Nonreciprocal metasurfaces: techniques and experiments

Nonreciprocal metasurfaces: techniques and experiments
Nonreciprocal metasurfaces: techniques and experiments

We provide a review of our recent advances on the concepts, analysis, simulation, experimental implementation and applications of nonreciprocal metasurfaces. Having known limitations and drawbacks of magnet-based nonreciprocity, we present two major nonmagnetic approaches for the realization of nonreciprocal metasurfaces, that is, transistor-based nonreciprocity and time modulation.

Abstract

We provide a review of our recent advances on the concepts, analysis, simulation, experimental implementation and applications of nonreciprocal metasurfaces. Having known limitations and drawbacks of magnet-based nonreciprocity, we present two major nonmagnetic approaches for the realization of nonreciprocal metasurfaces, that is, transistor-based nonreciprocity and time modulation.
