Dataset supporting the University of Southampton doctoral thesis "The morphology of coastal and fluvial flood-driven sediment deposits in natural and built environments"
This dataset supports the University of Southampton Doctoral Thesis "The morphology of coastal and fluvial flood-driven sediment deposits in natural and built environments". This dataset contains: Two XLSX files. 1) Coastal Data - Physical attributes (length, perimeter, area) of washover deposits created during hurricanes in the US (extracted from post-storm imagery), and from a simple numerical model. First sheet includes real-world natural deposits, second sheet real-world built deposits, and third sheet the results from the numerical model. 2) Fluvial Data - Physical attributes (length, perimeter, area, and volume) of crevasse splay deposits formed using the CAESAR-Lisflood hydrodynamic model. Sheet 1: Natural_SPlays (different discharges and grainsizes) Sheet 2: Natural_Roughness (different grainsizes and floodplain roughness) Sheet 3: Natural_Silt (different silt grainsizes and discharges) Sheet 4: Built_Splays (different discharges, grainszies, and Built Fractions) Sheet 5: Built_Roughness (different grainsizes, floodplain roughness, and Built Fractions)
