Dataset supporting the University of Southampton Doctoral Thesis 'Water droplet erosion of aeroengine fan blades'
This dataset supports the University of Southampton Doctoral Thesis entitled 'Water Droplet Erosion of aeroengine fan blades' by Charles Burson-Thomas, 2020.
The data includes raw images of high-speed videos to characterise curved-fronted jets. Nineteen sets of 128 images (captured at a rate of 500 kHz) (.tiff file format); 2432 images in total, that were used to characterised the high-speed jets, described in Chapter 4. The images were captured at a rate of 500 kHz with a Shimadzu HPV-X2 ultra-high speed camera and Sigma 105 lens. A Bowens Gemini 1000 Pro (set to 4.7) used to provide additional illumination.
