Finding wellbeing in cultural work

Finding wellbeing in cultural work
Finding wellbeing in cultural work
This workshop contribution will explore when and where wellbeing discourses emerge in relation to cultural work. From the BBC to Google, contemporary interpretations of wellbeing feature prominently in how cultural and creative industries organisations and advocacy bodies aim to support employees. These approaches will be critically considered in terms of longstanding issues of precarity and project-based that are commonly (although differently experienced) experienced by cultural workers. The contribution will suggest a diversity of viewpoints on care and wellbeing (e.g., United Voices of the World – Designers and Cultural Workers; The Care Collective) which might nuance or challenge these notions of wellbeing.
