Abstract
This article aims to contribute to a further understanding of the Indian population in post-1978 China. It gives an overview of the Indian trader population and their religious practices in today's China. This articles chooses to focus on the case of Indian traders not only because traders are the majority among China's Indian population but also because migrant merchants community has always had a stronger need to establish ethnic community and religious grouping, in order to safeguard their share business interest in the host society. In this way, the successful merchants are always the initiators and organizers of migrant religious organizations.
