Bourdieu and initial teacher education: a post-structuralist approach
Bourdieu and initial teacher education: a post-structuralist approach
This is a report of an empirical study of students training to teacher modern languages. A methodological approach derived from the French Social theorist is applied. The outcome of their training is studied in terms of their habitus - linguistic and other - and the field contexts in which they find themselves. The concept on 'pedagogic capital' is presented and explored.
