Cigarette smoking and drinking behaviour in Northern Ireland 1986-2002: a cohort analysis
This report examines trends in the prevalence of cigarette smoking and drinking
behaviour by age, gender and socio-economic status across different birth cohorts in Northern Ireland. Cohort specific death rates are presented for major smoking and alcohol related diseases. The analysis uses data from the Continuous Household Survey over the period 1986-2002 as well as mortality data.
