Towards efficient nanostructuring of silica glass by elliptically polarized ultrafast laser pulses
Towards efficient nanostructuring of silica glass by elliptically polarized ultrafast laser pulses
Efficient creation of anisotropic nanopores and associated birefringence in silica glass by elliptically polarized femtosecond laser pulses is observed, contrary to common belief. Application to multiplexed optical data storage is demonstrated.
